Ashley Gibson is excited to return to The Flying Beaver Pubaret for “The Difference a Year Makes” (or “How to Quit Your Job, Fall in Love and Live the Life of Your Dreams”, which didn’t quite have the same ring). Life changed a lot for Ashley following last year’s cabaret, “I Know it’s Today”. After a stint at a hellish office job in the bowels of Mississauga, Ashley turned her life around in 2014 with effervescence, determination and a positive attitude. With the help of accompanist Giustin MacLean, Ashley will share (and sing) a years worth of ups, downs, anxiety, and excitement as she aims to end 2014 on a high note!
Ashley Gibson is a graduate of Toronto’s Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts. Past theatre credits include: Herself in The Life is Sweet Project, Anne Boleyn/Elizabeth in REX (Canadian Premiere), Julia in The Wedding Singer, Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Grace in Annie, Luisa in The Fantasticks, Angel in The Rink, Alexei Darling in RENT, Daisy in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and Cinderella in Into the Woods. Past shows at the Pubaret include the sold out Life is Sweet, Even in February and I Know it’s Today. When not onstage, Ashley can be found frolicking around Toronto, writing her blog, cooking delicious gluten free, dairy free treats, tweeting way too much and likely wearing a dress. Ashley will be appearing in Opera Luminata’s upcoming Toronto engagement at the Fleck Theatre in November. Learn more at ashleygibson.ca
Barb and Scott are at it again! (performing that is!)
Barb Scheffler, singer, actor and comedienne, brings you a night of songs and stories all about love! A veteran musical theatre performer and cabaret artist, Barb has also entertained audiences for years doing interactive murder mysteries with Mysteriously Yours! She is joined by pianist, singer and music director extraordinaire Scott Pietrangelo. Come join us for a lovely evening where every song has “Love” in the title!
Peter Lebuis has been singing since he was a little boy. He is a veteran performer who has had more careers than boyfriends. From church secretary to his present incarnation as a high school counsellor he has always kept music in his life. He has written songs for the United Jewish Appeal, recorded songs for children, and performed across the US with a show band. He has also, for the last 15 years, been an Elton John tribute artist.
Peter, accompanied by his musical partner David Nelson, will sing some of his favourite songs. \
And we promise there will be something for everyone!

FEATURING The Cheesy Queer Movie THE HUNGER!
Oh and this one is cheesy.
Vampires meet lesbians meet eternal life or not who knows?
The Hunger is a 1983 British horror film directed by Tony Scott, and starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon. It is the story of a love triangle between a doctor who specialises in sleep and ageing research and a vampire couple.
It's THANKSGIVING WEEKEND! For some there's the sweet enjoyment of family and food and it's all beautiful and calm. For others that's only try on OPPOSITE Thanksgiving. ;)
So either way what to do when it's done? Why not hunker down with us in the cozy dark for a great meal and a cheesy movie...or a cheesy meal and a cheesy movie? (Just order the grilled cheese!)
Our amazing Chef Zack will be creating specials ala the movie's theme of, uh, blood sausage? KIDDING! Just stay tuned.
You show up, and let us do the rest!
It's a fundraiser for one of our favourite singer and karaoke peeps. Momo MacLeod lost everything in a break in and now we want to help him replace it.
Deets coming soon.
